ECI is a bio-pharmaceutical-oriented company, spun off from the Medical Institution of the University of Tokyo in 1999 and was listed on the Nagoya Stock Exchange in 2005. ECI utilizes novel findings on leukocyte function towards Cell-based Drug Discovery (CDD) and advanced medicine via its own proprietary technologies to assay leukocyte function, in particular chemotaxis. ECI develops Regenerative Medicine（RGM） technology for cell replacement therapy to repair disease-damaged tissues.
